The latest *Fields of Mistria* update brings a delightful new event: the annual Animal Festival! This fun town celebration gives your hard-working farm animals a chance to shine. Want to participate? This guide covers everything you need to know.

Like other seasonal events, the Animal Festival is an annual occurrence. Miss it this year? No worries! It returns next Winter. The festival begins on the 10th day of Winter, giving you plenty of time to prepare your animals.

Winning the *Fields of Mistria* Animal Festival

The main event lets you enter up to two animals: one small (chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc.) and one large (cows, alpacas, sheep, etc.). Remember, only fully grown adults are eligible.

Entering the Contest

1. Head to the festival grounds and speak to Josephine at the registration counter.
2. She'll direct you to two booths: one for large animals (speak to Terithia) and one for small animals (speak to Landen). Select your entries from the menus.
3. Once you've chosen your animals, return to Josephine and tell her you're ready for judging.

Josephine offers two key tips for a high score:

• Animal Affection: Higher heart levels mean higher scores! Pet, pick up, feed, and let your animals enjoy sunny days to boost their hearts.
• Coat Color: Rare coat colors (pink, blue, etc.) give you a significant score advantage.

Animal Festival Prizes

A cutscene reveals the winners for both small and large animal categories. Winning first place against Hayden's Henrietta (chicken) or Sunshine (cow) earns you top honors! Prizes are awarded based on your placement. Winning in your first year might be challenging, requiring significant time investment in animal care and farm upgrades to unlock rare animals and unique coat colors.

Consistent animal care and farm upgrades significantly increase your chances of winning the gold crown in future years.
