Want to use or mute voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds? While it's a multiplayer game, you're not obligated to chat. If you do want to use in-game voice chat (without Discord or other external party chat), here's how to manage it.
All voice chat settings are located within the game's audio options. Access the options menu (either in-game or from the main menu), navigate to the third tab from the right, and scroll down slightly. You'll find the Voice Chat setting with three options: Enable, Disable, and Push-to-Talk. "Enable" keeps voice chat constantly active; "Disable" turns it off completely; and "Push-to-Talk" requires you to press a designated keyboard key to activate voice transmission (keyboard only).
Further options control voice chat volume (adjusting its loudness) and voice chat auto-toggle. Auto-toggle prioritizes voice chat with either your current quest members, your link party members, or disables automatic switching entirely. Quest members are those participating in your current hunt, likely the most frequent choice. Link party members are those in your linked party, useful for collaborative story progression or assisting others, where you might need to wait for cutscenes.
That covers voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds. While the audio quality isn't as polished as dedicated apps, the in-game option is convenient, especially for cross-platform play.
