Get ready, NieR fans! A special 15th-anniversary livestream is on the horizon, promising exciting new updates and developer insights. Read on to discover more about this upcoming event and the possibility of a new NieR game.
Mark your calendars! Square Enix is hosting a livestream on their YouTube channel to celebrate the NieR series' 15th anniversary. This special broadcast will feature key figures behind the series' success, including creator and Creative Director Yoko Taro, Producer Yosuke Saito, Composer Keiichi Okabe, Senior Game Designer Takahisa Taura, and voice actor Hiroki Yasumoto (Grimoire Weiss and Pod 042). Expect a mini-live performance and other anniversary announcements.
Interestingly, the livestream's promotional image features art from the now-closed *NieR Reincarnation* mobile game. This could hint at future developments related to that title or simply serve as a nod to the series' history.
The livestream begins April 19, 2025, at 2 AM PT on Square Enix's YouTube channel. With an estimated runtime of 2.5 hours, anticipation is high for major announcements.
Producer Yosuke Saito has previously hinted at a potential new game in the works. A December 2024 interview with 4Gamer saw Saito mention the anniversary and express his desire to celebrate with either a new game or significant series developments.
The last mainline entry, *NieR: Automata*, was released in 2017, leaving fans eagerly awaiting a sequel. While no official announcements have been made, the 15th anniversary livestream provides a perfect opportunity for Square Enix to reveal exciting news for the future of the NieR series.
