Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Allegedly Leaks

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo leak may have revealed the console's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next-generation console have been circulating since President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence in early 2024. A full unveiling is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch expected later this year.

The timing of the release has been widely speculated since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement, but Nintendo has remained largely silent. While the name "Nintendo Switch 2" isn't officially confirmed, most leaks point towards it. Many also suggest a design similar to the original Switch, making a direct sequel branding plausible.

Comicbook reports a logo leak shared on Bluesky by Necro Felipe of Universo Nintendo. This logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring stylized Joy-Cons above "Nintendo Switch," with the key difference being a "2" added next to the Joy-Cons. This seemingly confirms the widely used placeholder name, "Nintendo Switch 2," as the official title.

Is it Really the Switch 2?

The logo's authenticity remains unverified, and some doubt the "Nintendo Switch 2" moniker. Nintendo's history includes consoles with names significantly different from their predecessors, the Wii U being a notable example. The Wii U's unconventional naming is believed by some to have negatively impacted its sales, potentially prompting a more straightforward approach for the Switch's successor.

Previous leaks appear to corroborate Felipe's logo and name, but gamers should remain cautious until an official announcement. Another rumor hints at a potentially imminent reveal, based on recent social media activity.
