Nintendo has officially announced that preorders for the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will commence on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the UK. The new console is set to hit the shelves on June 5, 2025, with a price tag of $449.99. In a detailed reveal today, Nintendo unveiled the next generation of their iconic gaming system.

For fans eager to dive into the action, Nintendo is offering a Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle at a suggested retail price of $499.99 in the US. This bundle includes the system along with a download code for Mario Kart World, available right from the launch day on June 5. If you're looking to purchase Mario Kart World separately, be prepared for a price of $79.99, reflecting the high demand for this fan-favorite game.

To stay ahead of the game, you can sign up to be notified about preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories directly through the My Nintendo Store. Priority for these notifications will be given to users who have a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and have logged at least 50 gameplay hours by April 2, 2025. Invitations to purchase will be sent out on a first-come, first-served basis and are valid for 72 hours. Each account can purchase one system and one of each accessory. Major retailers are also expected to open preorders on April 9, 2025.
