Blizzard is once again at the heart of an Overwatch 2 controversy. The developer sold the Cyber DJ Lucio skin for $19.99, only to announce the very next day that it would be available for free to Twitch viewers watching a one-hour broadcast on February 12th. This revelation understandably angered many players who had already purchased the skin.

This isn't the first time Blizzard has faced backlash for selling cosmetic items and later offering them for free through promotions. Players are demanding refunds, citing unfair practices. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the in-game store, Blizzard hasn't yet addressed the refund requests.
Facing stiff competition, particularly from the highly successful Marvel Rivals, Blizzard is responding with a major announcement. A special Overwatch 2 Spotlight event on February 12th will unveil revolutionary gameplay changes, new maps, heroes, and other content. Blizzard will also host prominent streamers at their headquarters to provide an exclusive early look at upcoming updates.
