The game's launch was a phenomenal success, breaking sales and concurrent player records. Capitalizing on this momentum, Pocketpair partnered with Sony to establish Palworld Entertainment, dedicated to expanding the IP and further platform releases, including the PS5 launch.

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are seeking substantial financial compensation and an injunction against Palworld's distribution, citing three Japanese patents related to capturing creatures in a virtual environment. While Palworld's Pal Sphere capturing mechanic bears resemblance to Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pocketpair has recently altered the Pal summoning system, fueling speculation about its connection to the ongoing legal battle.
