As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event, followed by the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Kicking off the new year is the Eggs-pedition Access, a January-long event (January 1st - 31st) offering a range of benefits for $4.99. This includes increased Gift storage (up to 40 Gifts), daily Gift opening limits (up to 50), and a boosted number of Gifts obtainable from PokéStops (150).

New Year's 2025 Event Details:

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While lacking new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes, the event still offers plenty of festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks. Raids will feature Pikachu (snowflake beanie) in Tier One raids, and Raticate and Wobbuffet (party hats) in Tier Three raids, both with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon encounters will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
