"New Predator Unveiled in 'Badlands' Trailer: Unlike Any Before"

The iconic creature is making a thrilling return in the highly anticipated sci-fi action sequel, Predator: Badlands. The teaser trailer, which has recently surfaced online, gives fans their first glimpse into this new chapter of the franchise.

In the teaser, we are introduced to Elle Fanning's character, who seems to inhabit a perilous future on a remote planet. What sets this installment apart is the unique twist on the traditional Predator narrative. The teaser hints that the Predator Fanning's character encounters is unlike any before, possibly even taking on the role of the protagonist. The tagline, "The director of Prey welcomes you to a world of pain," sets the stage for intense action and new storytelling.

Apart from showcasing this new type of Predator, the trailer also teases connections to the Alien universe, sparking speculation about a potential setup for a new Aliens vs Predator movie. A notable detail is Fanning's eyes displaying the Weyland Yutani reboot effect, similar to what is seen in Alien: Romulus, suggesting her character may be a synthetic. Additionally, the Weyland Yutani logo, the sinister corporation central to the Alien franchise, is visible on a damaged vehicle.

The trailer debuted exclusively at CinemaCon earlier this month, marking the first time fans could catch a glimpse of what's in store.

During CinemaCon, 20th Century Studios released an official synopsis for the film: "In the future on a remote planet, a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary."

Elle Fanning shared some intriguing details about her role at CinemaCon, stating, "Something unprecedented happens in this movie. My character is not the one being chased. My character actually teams up with the Predator. And you get to see him in a completely new light. And... I'll stop there!"

Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Predator prequel Prey, Predator: Badlands is co-written by Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison. The film is slated to premiere in theaters on November 7, 2025.
