According to journalist Jason Schreier, the acclaimed Rocksteady Studios is developing a new single-player Batman game. Details are scarce, with no confirmation whether it's a prequel, sequel to the Arkham series, or a completely new universe. However, one insider suggests it's a Batman Beyond title, setting the action in a futuristic Gotham City and potentially spanning a full trilogy for next-generation consoles.

The Arkham series was celebrated for its stunning visuals, and a futuristic Gotham could be Rocksteady's most impressive yet. The Batman Beyond setting also addresses the challenge of replacing the iconic voice of Kevin Conroy, who sadly passed away in 2022. This allows the spotlight to shift to Terry McGinnis or Damian Wayne, similar to Warner Bros. Montreal's plans for a cancelled Arkham Knight sequel.
Rocksteady's previous project, an online shooter, underperformed, leading to the cancellation of post-launch content and a rushed animated epilogue rewriting controversial plot points by revealing fallen heroes were clones.
Now, Rocksteady returns to its strengths with a new solo Batman adventure. However, insiders caution that this project remains years from release.
