Samsung Launches Cheaper MicroSD Express Cards

Just in time for Black Friday and the holiday shopping season, Samsung has unveiled its own series of MicroSD Express cards. The new Samsung P9 MicroSD Express cards are available in 256GB and 512GB versions and offer compatibility with the Nintendo Switch 2. Amazon is already offering the 512GB model at a discount, with a $5 coupon that reduces the price from $99.99 to $94.99. This currently makes it one of the more affordable 512GB options on the market. While Walmart sells its Onn house brand 512GB MicroSD Express Card for a lower $84.77, our review found it delivers noticeably slower speeds.

The 256GB model is priced at $54.99, undercutting the official Switch 2 memory card by $5 (interestingly, the official card is also manufactured by Samsung). However, if you're considering this capacity, it's best to hold off. Nintendo has announced that the official 256GB card for the Switch 2 will drop to just $39.99 on Cyber Monday.

If you don't already have a Switch 2, now could be a great time to buy. The console is now readily available everywhere, including Amazon, with no invitation needed. Nintendo recently increased prices for Switch 2 accessories and hinted that the console itself may see a price rise soon. We don't anticipate any Black Friday sales on the Switch 2 console; the only way to get it for less would be to purchase an imported model from AliExpress or a used unit from eBay or other marketplaces.
