by Christian May 03,2025

Diving into the thrilling world of *R.E.P.O.*, a cooperative horror game that challenges you and up to five friends to navigate eerie maps, snatch valuables, and make a daring escape, can be exhilarating. But nothing is more disheartening than losing your progress due to not knowing how to save your game. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to ensure your efforts in *R.E.P.O.* are preserved.

How To Save Your Game in R.E.P.O.

One of the most frustrating experiences for any gamer is anticipating a saved game, only to find that none of their progress was recorded. This issue is particularly pronounced in newer titles like *R.E.P.O.*. Not all games feature autosaves, and some require you to reach specific points or fulfill certain conditions before saving. It's easy to overlook the tutorial on saving, especially if the instructions aren't clear.

In *R.E.P.O.*, the key to saving your game lies in completing the level you're on. There's no option for manual saving, so exiting mid-mission or dying (which sends you to the Disposal Arena) will erase your current save. You'll need to start the level over if this happens. Once you die in *R.E.P.O.*, your save file is wiped, and if you quit in the middle of a location, you'll be sent back to the beginning of that level.

To successfully save your game, you must finish the level. Once you've collected the valuables, head to the Extraction Point, enter the truck, and press the message button above your head to signal the Taxman, your AI boss, that it's time to head to the Service Station. At the Service Station, you can shop for supplies and then use the same button to move on to the next level.

After leaving the Service Station, you'll reach your next location. At this point, it's safe to exit to the main menu or quit the game. When you or the host (if someone else created the save file) restarts *R.E.P.O.*, you can resume playing normally. Remember, if there's a host, they must exit the game at the appropriate time to ensure the save is recorded properly. Once the host exits, all other players will be disconnected.
