Want to skip the cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise? While Rise's story features surprisingly well-developed characters and an engaging narrative, some hunters just want to get straight to the action. If that's you, here's how to bypass those cinematic interludes.
Skipping Cutscenes in Monster Hunter Rise
To skip a cutscene, simply hold down the Y key on a keyboard, or the back button on your controller. Hold it for about a second. If you're using an unconventional control scheme, briefly press a few buttons during a cutscene; the required input will be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.
You can also pause cutscenes at any time, allowing you to review details without skipping ahead entirely. While many past Monster Hunter cutscenes felt unnecessary, Rise's are largely story-relevant. We only recommend skipping them on subsequent playthroughs.
Rewatching Cutscenes
For those who prefer to enjoy the cinematics later, or want to revisit specific moments, you can rewatch cutscenes from the in-game menu. This might disrupt the narrative flow slightly, but the monster introductions in Rise are often spectacular—perfect for capturing screenshots.
