Attention all music lovers: Spotify, the popular music streaming service, experienced a widespread outage starting around 6 a.m. PT this morning. According to Downdetector, a site that tracks online service disruptions, reports of the outage have been pouring in continuously. Our team at IGN also faced difficulties accessing the service throughout the morning. Even when we managed to open the app, it failed to play any music.
Spotify has officially acknowledged the issue and is actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible. The company has also debunked rumors circulating about the outage being caused by a security hack, confirming that these reports are false.
