Following the success of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios has hinted at a new game

Arrowhead Studios, fresh off the overwhelmingly positive reception of Helldivers 2 (released just a year ago), is currently developing a "high-concept" game. Creative director Johan Pilestedt took to social media to announce the project and solicit fan feedback.

Community suggestions ranged widely, from a Smash TV remake to Star Fox-inspired titles. Pilestedt confirmed prior internal consideration of a Smash TV remake and hinted at a Star Fox-esque "rail game."

While details remain scarce, Arrowhead's active community engagement is evident. The studio's next project faces high expectations, given Helldivers 2's success as a standout title of 2024.

A recent update for Helldivers 2, including the highly anticipated Omens of Tyranny expansion (shadow-dropped at the 2024 Game Awards), has significantly boosted player numbers on PS5. This update, featuring the Illuminate enemy faction, the 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle, and new urban warfare maps, has been well-received. With a rumored Killzone crossover also in the pipeline, Helldivers 2 is poised for continued success in 2025.
