Tuxedo Labs has exciting news for fans of their acclaimed sandbox game, Teardown. They've announced the introduction of a multiplayer mode, fulfilling a long-standing goal and a top request from the community. Alongside this, they're launching the Folkrace DLC, which promises to enrich the single-player experience with new maps, vehicles, and racing challenges. Players can look forward to competing in diverse events, earning rewards, and customizing their vehicles to rule the tracks.
The multiplayer feature will initially be available on Steam's Experimental Branch, allowing players to get an early taste and provide valuable feedback. Tuxedo Labs is particularly keen on input from the modding community, as they plan to update the game's API. This will enable modders to adapt their creations for use in multiplayer settings, enhancing the overall experience.
The developers have emphasized that multiplayer has been a vision they've been eager to realize, and this announcement marks a significant milestone. At launch, players can access the multiplayer mode through the "Experimental" branch on Steam. Concurrently, the team will roll out API updates to ensure that existing mods can seamlessly integrate into multiplayer environments. Once the testing phase concludes, multiplayer will become a permanent fixture of Teardown.
Looking to the future, Tuxedo Labs has teased that two more major DLCs are on the horizon, with more details set to be revealed later in 2025. This roadmap promises to keep the Teardown community engaged and excited about what's to come.
