This exciting expansion brings two new characters and four new tokens to the game, perfectly timed for the holiday season. Marmalade, the developer behind Ticket to Ride, aimed to delight fans with this release, offering fresh locations and new gameplay elements. Whether you're a novice or a seasoned player, the expansion encourages a dynamic play style that requires you to rethink your strategies to build a successful railroad empire.

One of the standout features of the Switzerland Expansion is the introduction of country-to-country tickets. These tickets challenge you to connect one country to another as specified on the ticket. Each ticket offers multiple connection options, such as linking France to Germany, Italy, or Austria, with varying point values for completion. This adds a layer of strategic decision-making as you navigate the limited number of nodes available in each country.

In addition to country-to-country routes, the expansion also includes city-to-country tickets, where you connect a specific city to a country. As you complete routes, you earn points based on the highest-scoring completed connection on each ticket. However, failing to make any connections for a ticket will result in a deduction of points equivalent to the lowest value on the ticket.
