Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024 Update

HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique mechanics and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all available Agents in ZZZ version 1.1, reflecting the current meta. Note that tier lists are dynamic and subject to change with new content. For example, while Grace was initially top-tier, the addition of numerous Anomaly units has diminished her overall effectiveness. Miyabi's overwhelming power further illustrates the evolving meta.

Quick Links

S-Tier

S-Tier Agents S-Tier Agents consistently excel in their roles and synergize effectively with others.

  • Miyabi: Miyabi's rapid Frost attacks and substantial damage output make her a top contender. While requiring strategic play, mastering her abilities allows for devastating battlefield dominance.

Miyabi

  • Jane Doe: A superior version of Piper, Jane Doe's critical hit potential on Assault Anomalies significantly surpasses Piper's damage. Despite the inherent slowness of Anomaly units, her potent Assault capabilities secure her an S-rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Jane Doe

  • Yanagi: Yanagi specializes in triggering Disorder, activating its effects without needing to apply Shock. She excels when paired with other Anomaly Agents, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi.

Yanagi

  • Zhu Yuan: Zhu Yuan is a high-performing DPS unit, dealing rapid damage with her Shotshells. She is highly versatile, working well with various Stun and Support characters. In version 1.1, her optimal synergy is with Qingyi and Nicole.

Zhu Yuan

  • Caesar: Caesar redefines the role of a Defensive Agent. Beyond exceptional protection, she offers significant buffs and debuffs. Her Impact scaling enables easy enemy stuns, and her crowd control further enhances her value.

Caesar

  • Qingyi: A versatile Stunner, Qingyi is effective in any team with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze buildup, coupled with a substantial DMG multiplier against stunned enemies, place her above Lycaon and Koleda (though Lycaon remains superior in Ellen teams).

Qingyi

  • Lighter: Lighter is a Stun Agent with notable buffs, best suited for Fire and Ice teams, making him a valuable asset given the strength of these elemental units.

Lighter

  • Lycaon: Lycaon, an Ice/Stun unit, relies on charged attacks to apply Ice and Daze, synergizing well with Anomaly reactions. His ability to reduce Ice resistance and boost Daze DMG makes him crucial for Ice teams.

Lycaon

  • Ellen: An Ice Attack Agent, Ellen's synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku is exceptional. With Lycaon's stuns and Soukaku's buffs, Ellen delivers devastating damage, particularly with her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates.

Ellen

  • Harumasa: An Electric Attack character, Harumasa (initially a free Agent) requires specific setup to unleash his full potential.

Harumasa

  • Soukaku: Soukaku is a strong Ice Support, providing buffs and Ice Anomaly buildup, significantly enhancing the performance of Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon.

Soukaku

  • Rina: Rina, a Support Agent, deals considerable damage while granting allies PEN (Penetration), ignoring enemy defense. Her high damage is linked to PEN sharing, making PEN Ratio a priority in her build. She also excels at building Shock Anomaly and buffing Shock reactions.

Rina

A-Tier

A-Tier Agents A-Tier Agents are strong in specific team compositions but are generally good in their roles.

  • Nicole: Nicole is a valuable Ether Support, pulling enemies into energy fields (beneficial for AoE units like Nekomata) and significantly reducing enemy DEF while boosting Ether DMG. However, her effectiveness is primarily limited to Ether DPS units.

Nicole

  • Seth: Seth functions as a solid shield and support, but not at the level of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche focus on Anomaly DPS limits his overall usefulness compared to ATK buffers.

Seth

  • Lucy: Lucy is an off-field DMG Support, providing an ATK% buff and continuous damage. Her DPS increases with synergistic character pairings.

Lucy

  • Piper: While Piper's kit centers around her EX Special Attack, it remains potent. Her Assault Anomaly generation and synergy with other Anomaly units make her valuable.

Piper

  • Grace: Grace remains relevant for Anomaly buildup, particularly her ability to quickly apply Shock and trigger continuous DMG. However, the influx of new Anomaly Agents has lowered her ranking.

Grace

  • Koleda: Koleda is a reliable Fire/Stun character, effective in teams with other Fire units. Her synergy with Ben extends beyond stats, adding new movesets.

Koleda

  • Anby: Anby is a reliable Stun unit with quick and effective combos, but her susceptibility to interruption holds her back compared to other Stun Agents.

Anby

  • Soldier 11: Soldier 11 is a straightforward Fire Attack unit with high DMG output, but her simplicity limits her overall ranking.

Soldier 11

B-Tier

B-Tier Agents B-Tier Agents have some utility but are outperformed by others in their roles.

  • Ben: Ben is a defensive character with parrying capabilities and synergy with Koleda, but his slow speed and limited team benefits restrict his overall effectiveness.

Ben

  • Nekomata: Nekomata deals high AoE DMG but relies heavily on team support, currently struggling to find optimal synergy due to her Element and Faction.

Nekomata

C-Tier

C-Tier Agents C-Tier Agents currently offer limited value.

  • Corin: Corin deals Physical DMG, excelling against stunned enemies, but is outperformed by Nekomata and Piper.

Corin

  • Billy: Billy's high damage output is offset by his overall low damage and limited utility.

Billy

  • Anton: Anton's continuous Shock DMG is hampered by his low DPS and single-target focus.
