Nintendo Tokyo has introduced an exciting new addition to its gachapon lineup, featuring magnetic capsule toys inspired by the iconic Zonai Devices from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Available exclusively at the Tokyo store, this collection brings a piece of the game's innovative gameplay into the real world.
While the game boasts a plethora of Zonai Devices, this unique collection showcases six of the most recognizable ones: the Zonai Fan, Flame Emitter, Portable Pot, Shock Emitter, Big Wheel, and Rocket. Each capsule not only houses these miniaturized devices but also includes a magnet designed to mimic the adhesive effect of Ultrahand's fusion ability in the game. The capsules themselves are crafted to resemble those dispensed from the Device Dispensers in Tears of the Kingdom, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the collectible experience.
Instead of using in-game Zonai Charges or Construct materials, fans can obtain these coveted items by spending $4 per capsule at Nintendo’s gacha machine. Purchases are limited to two capsules per attempt, and those looking to try their luck again must rejoin the queue. Given the immense popularity of Tears of the Kingdom, expect long lines at the store.
Nintendo has a rich history of engaging fans with its gachapon offerings. The first wave, dubbed the Controller Button Collections, was launched in June 2021 across Nintendo stores in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. This collection delighted retro gaming enthusiasts with six controller keychains split evenly between Famicom and NES designs.
Following this success, the second wave rolled out in July 2024, expanding the nostalgia with classic designs from the SNES, N64, and Gamecube controllers. These gachapon offerings have become a beloved tradition among Nintendo fans.
For those unable to visit the Tokyo store, the Zonai Devices might eventually be available at other locations, such as the Nintendo Check-In booth at Narita Airport. Alternatively, they may surface through resellers, though at a potentially higher price due to their exclusivity and demand.
