Kazuma Kaneko, the iconic designer known for his work on Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Devil Summoner, is back with an exciting new project: Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter. Developed by COLOPL, this roguelike deck-building game will be available on PC, iOS, and Android, blending Kaneko's signature dark, mythological style with strategic card-based combat.
Set in a futuristic Tokyo Bay, Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter unfolds within The Hashira, a towering high-rise transformed into a sealed battleground. This structure is now home to mysterious entities known as gods and demons. An elite national defense force called Tsukuyomi has been tasked with reaching the top floor to confront and eliminate a formidable adversary.
Fans of Kaneko’s previous works will recognize the game's setting, which masterfully combines elements of urban decay and supernatural horror to craft an eerie and tense atmosphere. The game's release later this year promises a unique fusion of mythological and cyberpunk themes.
In Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter, players will build a deck of powerful abilities while navigating an ever-changing dungeon. Each run offers new cards, layouts, and enemy encounters, ensuring that no two playthroughs are the same.
Combat in the game is fast-paced and turn-based, requiring players to make strategic decisions. Each turn allows only one action, which could be either an attack or a defense move, demanding quick and precise decision-making.
While exploring the dungeon, players will encounter branching paths and critical choices that significantly impact their journey. These decisions influence battles and resource availability. True to the roguelike genre, failure in combat results in losing all progress, forcing players to start anew and plan their strategies more carefully.
Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is slated for release around June 30th, though this date may be subject to change. Interested players can pre-register by clicking on their preferred link below.
