"Unlocking the Deep Woods: A Guide for Fields of Mistria Players"

Since *Fields of Mistria* entered Early Access on Steam, the Deep Woods area has been marked on the town map. However, it remained inaccessible until the game's March 2025 update. Here's a detailed guide on how to access the Deep Woods and where to find Caldarus in *Fields of Mistria*.

How To Unlock the Deep Woods in Fields of Mistria

To unlock the Deep Woods, you must break the Fire Seal and use the new Dragon's Breath spell to burn through the vines blocking the entrance. Start by placing four specific items on the Priestess' Fire Seal altar located on Floor 60 of the mines: a Faceted Rock Gem, a Rockroot, an Emerald, and a Sealing Scroll. The first three items are available between floors 50 and 59, but acquiring the Sealing Scroll requires teamwork with Juniper and Balor.

To help Balor obtain the Sealing Scroll, leave the following items in the bin by his wagon:

• x10 Silver Ingots
• x10 Rubies
• x10 Sapphires
• x10 Emeralds

After meeting these requirements, speak with Balor again. He will inform you that the scroll will be available the next day, allowing you to complete the offering.

Typically, breaking a magic seal results in a few words from the mines' Priestess and the unlocking of a new biome. This time, however, the outcome is different. The Priestess warns you to leave before the Sealing Scroll traps you inside. With your health depleted, Caldarus appears in his human form to aid you, then retreats to his temple in the Deep Woods to regain his strength.

Caldarus leaves you with the Dragon's Breath spell, a powerful tool that not only clears the path to the Deep Woods but can also uncover other hidden areas on the map. To use it, equip Dragon's Breath from the pause menu and activate it in front of the Deep Woods entrance to permanently unlock it.

How To Find Caldarus

After breaking the Fire Seal, you can locate Caldarus inside his temple in the Deep Woods. The temple is situated to the north of the Eastern Road on your map, accessible by using the Dragon's Breath spell. Caldarus' exact location is marked on your map like other NPCs, found in the northeast corner of the area.

To reach him, enter the Deep Woods and head right to chop down the stump blocking your path with your axe. Continue north until you reach the temple where Caldarus awaits inside.

Once the Deep Woods is unlocked, you can use the Dragon Statue on your farm to fast travel to the area and visit Caldarus for just 10 Essence. This method saves time compared to traveling on foot or horseback.

Remember, you can still interact with Caldarus through his statue in spirit form.
