Following a reported apology from Microsoft, Jyamma Games has expressed renewed optimism regarding the Xbox release of their debut title, Enotria: The Last Song, though a firm release date remains elusive.
Microsoft's apology to Jyamma Games follows a significant delay in the Xbox certification process for Enotria: The Last Song. The delay, lasting over two months, prompted Jyamma Games to announce an indefinite postponement of the Xbox release earlier this week. Jyamma CEO, Jacky Greco, voiced frustration on the game's Discord server, citing a lack of communication from Microsoft.
However, a swift response from Microsoft, including a reported apology from Phil Spencer's team, has changed the situation dramatically. Jyamma Games publicly thanked both Microsoft and their supportive community on Twitter (X), highlighting the impact of player advocacy in resolving the issue.
"We are now actively collaborating with Microsoft," the studio confirmed, "and remain hopeful for a timely Xbox release."
Greco further elaborated on the Discord server, confirming Microsoft's apology and commitment to resolving the situation.
This incident underscores recent challenges faced by developers in releasing titles on Xbox. Funcom recently reported optimization difficulties with their Xbox Series S port of Dune: Awakening. While the PS5 and PC releases of Enotria: The Last Song are still slated for September 19th, the Xbox release date remains uncertain.
