액티비전, 블랙 옵스 7 출시 전 사전 홍보 제한

by Ava Nov 09,2025

Microsoft unveiled Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 during its Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025—marking a later-than-usual announcement for the franchise. The debut trailer offered only brief glimpses: a narrative tease, confirmation of the 2035 setting, and the protagonist reveal—David Mason.

Activision's Chief Marketing Officer Tyler Bahl explained the rationale to Variety:

"Typically, we'd have previewed all key features by now. This time, we're modeling it after unexpected album drops—where anticipation builds through secrecy. Our goal was to disrupt expectations by minimizing pre-launch promotion, delivering the experience fresh to players."

비록 Activision이 여름 쇼케이스를 암시했지만, 출시 때까지는 상당한 공개 내용이 제한적으로 이루어질 수 있습니다.

Confirmed details place the story in 2035—40+ years after Black Ops 6—amid global turmoil following events from Black Ops 2 and its predecessor. The co-op campaign returns after its absence in BO6 (solo play remains available), featuring near-future arsenals, new multiplayer maps, and a new Round-Based Zombies chapter in the Dark Aether saga.

Official synopsis:

Armed with advanced tech, David Mason's team battles a manipulative antagonist weaponizing fear as their ultimate tactic.

Variety reports Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us) assumes the recast role of David Mason, joined by Kiernan Shipka as Emma Kagen (The Guild CEO) and Michael Rooker reprising Black Ops 2's Mike Harper.

Activision confirmed cross-gen availability for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and last-gen/PC platforms (Xbox PC, Battle.net, Steam), including Game Pass at launch. No Nintendo Switch 2 mention appeared. Treyarch and Raven Software jointly developed the title.

Black Ops 7 breaks franchise patterns as the first back-to-back sequel (releasing just one year post-BO6), drawing comparisons to 2023's rapid Modern Warfare 3 follow-up. Activision maintains it delivers "the complete Call of Duty experience," while speculation points to Infinity Ward's 2026 Modern Warfare reboot.
