Assassin's Creed Shadows Art Book Leaks on a Hentai Site, of All Places

by Connor Mar 17,2025

Online whispers are swirling with new details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows, thanks to a purported leak of an artbook. The "Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows" artbook, spotted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, has rapidly spread across the internet. This extensive collection reportedly contains hundreds of pages showcasing concept art, quotes from developers, and insightful information regarding the next Assassin's Creed installment.

The leak's origin story is as intriguing as its contents: allegedly originating from a website known for hosting hentai. Ubisoft has been contacted by IGN for comment. While the original source has removed the gallery, archived versions are circulating on other file-sharing platforms.

The leaked artbook features intriguing glimpses into the game's development, including concept art of famous historical figures, major cities, and a variety of weaponry. The artwork also seemingly reveals potential plot spoilers for Assassin's Creed Shadows. While confirmation awaits the game's release, the leaked images appear authentic.

This leak emerges just before Assassin's Creed Shadows' launch on March 20, 2025, following a delay from its initial 2024 release window. The game was pushed back to February, and then further to March.

At a recent preview event, IGN spoke with Assassin's Creed Shadows game director Charles Benoit. He explained the delay was primarily focused on polishing the game, without altering core gameplay systems. Benoit mentioned minor adjustments to progression and balancing, but highlighted the parkour system as the main focus of the extra development time. The unique challenges presented by Feudal Japan's architecture proved demanding.

"The Japanese architecture, the roofs [are] super complex," he explained. "Probably the most complex thing that I ever worked with if we compared to Odyssey and Syndicate. We needed specific codes and specific animations to support something super fluid, changing the transition of the parkour to make it even more fluid. So that's one of the specific feedback that we heard that we wanted to address, and it really improved since the last few months."
