Says It "Could Be Interesting"

Following the remarkable success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developer Sandfall Interactive is now exploring the possibility of bringing the game to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Guillaume Broche, the director of Expedition 33, discussed the studio's future plans.

Broche highlighted how the game's success has opened up new avenues for the team, stating, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."

When queried about a potential Switch 2 release, Broche expressed a positive yet cautious outlook. He explained that the studio is currently inundated with various opportunities and is carefully considering their next steps. "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting," he remarked.

Given the imminent launch of the Switch 2, it seems fitting for the critically acclaimed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, hailed as one of the top-rated games of the year, to make its way to the new handheld console. Fans eagerly await confirmation on whether they'll be able to experience this Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's latest device.

No Official Merchandise…Yet!

In addition to potential new platforms, Sandfall Interactive is also dealing with a surge of requests and opportunities, including the demand for official merchandise. A particular fan favorite is the character Esquie, for whom fans are requesting a plush toy. However, Sandfall has yet to produce any official merchandise and has cautioned fans about counterfeit items circulating online.

In a Twitter (X) post on May 14, the studio clarified that any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are not officially licensed. They further warned that many of these unauthorized products feature AI-generated artwork, which Sandfall advises against purchasing due to potential scams.

Despite the current situation, Sandfall is actively working on creating official Esquie plushies. Their tweet stated, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
