Pocketpair's Palworld, renowned for its expansive open-world exploration, continues to captivate players since its January 2024 launch. The Feybreak DLC significantly enhanced the game, introducing numerous crafting materials, including the coveted Dark Fragments. Essential for high-tier accessories, acquiring Dark Fragments is a key objective in Feybreak.
Dark Fragments are obtained by engaging with Dark-elemental Pals exclusively found on Feybreak Island. This method is not applicable to Dark-elemental Pals in other game regions. The coastal areas of Feybreak primarily feature ground and water-type Pals; venturing inland is necessary to locate Dark-elemental Pals. Note that some Pals, such as Starryon, are nocturnal unless encountered as boss variants.
Capturing or defeating these Pals (using Ultimate or Exotic Spheres is recommended) yields 1-3 Dark Fragments on average. The drop is not guaranteed per encounter, but diligent hunting of Dark Pals ensures a sufficient supply.
The following Dark-elemental Pals yield Dark Fragments. Be aware of boss and predator variants found in open areas and dungeons:
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina
2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct
1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Starryon (Midnight Blue Mane; Boss)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Starryon (Predator Pal)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Omascul (Hundred-Faced Apostle; Boss)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Splatterina (Crismon Butcher; Boss)
2-3 x Dark Fragments
Dazzi Noct (Born of the Thunderclouds; Boss)
1 x Dark Fragment
Kitsun Noct (Guardian of the Dark Flame; Boss)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Omascul (Predator Pal)
1-2 x Dark Fragments
Rampaging Splatterina (Predator Pal)
2-3 x Dark Fragments
While less reliable, single Dark Fragments can occasionally be found scattered across Feybreak. Thorough exploration is beneficial, though frequent combat will deplete ammunition, potentially impacting other objectives like defeating Bjorn, the island's formidable Tower Boss.
Despite the challenge in acquiring them, Dark Fragments are not used in a vast array of recipes. Their primary use is in crafting specialized saddles, accessories for certain Pals, and enhanced boots for the player character.
