Crossplay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: Should You Disable It?

Crossplay has revolutionized online gaming, connecting players across platforms. However, in Black Ops 6, disabling crossplay presents a trade-off. Many console players opt to disable it to level the playing field, avoiding the perceived advantages of PC players using mouse and keyboard controls and potentially encountering cheaters more frequently.

The advantages of disabling crossplay include a potentially fairer match experience and a reduced likelihood of encountering cheaters, despite the presence of anti-cheat measures.

However, a significant drawback is the reduced player pool, leading to longer matchmaking times and potentially less stable connections.

Disabling crossplay is simple. Locate the Crossplay and Crossplay Communications options within the Account & Network settings. Toggle the setting from "On" to "Off" using the X or A button. This can be done from within Black Ops 6, Warzone, or the main Call of Duty menu. Note that the image shows the setting added to Quick Settings for easier access.

You might find the setting greyed out in certain modes like Ranked Play, where crossplay is sometimes mandatory. However, Season 2 of Black Ops 6 is expected to allow crossplay disabling in all modes, giving players more control over their matches.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
