Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero Set for Nintendo Switch 2, Saudi Ratings Board Suggests

by Grace May 25,2025

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has been rated for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, sparking excitement among fans even before any official announcement from the developers. Although there's no direct confirmation that this latest addition to the iconic series, inspired by Akira Toriyama's beloved anime and manga, will be available on the new console, a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation has set the gaming community abuzz. Spotted by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, the tweet before its removal stated, "Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," and confirmed a 12+ rating for the game.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero elevates the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to new heights. It promises an extensive roster of playable characters, each equipped with their unique abilities, transformations, and techniques. In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, describing it as "a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."

Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 opened on April 24, with the console priced at $449.99. As expected, they sold out rapidly. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who had applied for a Switch 2 pre-order from the My Nintendo Store, stating that release date delivery was not guaranteed due to the overwhelming demand.
