Fortunately, the game features a Hoverboard, accessible from the outset, that significantly boosts traversal. While not explicitly explained, this essential tool acts as a sprint function, dramatically increasing movement speed while gradually depleting your Energy. This guide details Hoverboard usage and its unique capabilities.

How To Summon A Hoverboard in Hyper Light Breaker

Activating the Hoverboard is straightforward: hold down the Dodge button. Your Breaker will dash forward and automatically mount the Hoverboard as long as you maintain the Dodge input.

Hoverboard control is intuitive. The left analog stick controls direction; leaning the board subtly alters your course. Note that turning is slower at higher speeds. Release the Dodge button to dismount. The Hoverboard will also automatically deactivate if your Energy is depleted.

Your current Energy level is displayed near your Breaker's companion while using the Hoverboard (or Glider). Remember to dismount briefly to replenish your Energy to avoid unexpected dismounts.

Hoverboard Movement Techniques & Applications

While the Hoverboard doesn't allow for tricks or attacks, it possesses several key features. Most notably, it functions seamlessly on water, eliminating the need to circumvent waterways. Its land and water performance is identical.

Note that you cannot summon the Hoverboard while underwater; you must be already riding it to traverse water. The Hoverboard will quickly resurface regardless of entry speed or height.

Holding the Jump button while on the Hoverboard allows you to crouch, aiding in precise jump timing. While no double-jump is possible, the increased speed facilitates longer jumps and crossing wider gaps. Crouching does not affect speed or jump height.
