"Infinity Nikki Players Threaten Uninstall Over Update 1.5 Changes"

by Lillian May 28,2025

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update are now available on Steam, but the release has been overshadowed by a series of issues sparking significant community backlash.

Infold Games’ stylish dress-up adventure hit Valve’s digital storefront after months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store. Instead of a celebratory launch, players encountered a range of technical problems, including crashes and instability that prevented the game from launching properly. Beyond these technical woes, the community expressed frustration over new design elements and monetization strategies.

The update introduced two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces to complete—a significant increase from what players were accustomed to. This change, coupled with the need for up to 220 pulls to collect full sets, has raised concerns about future outfit requirements becoming even more demanding.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, leaving players puzzled and frustrated. As a result, the Chinese player base took to social media platform RedNote to voice their discontent, igniting a global movement. Players worldwide are now boycotting Infinity Nikki on Steam, leaving negative reviews, and uninstalling the game across all platforms.

Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized the importance of holding back on pulls to send a message to the developers. “For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players,” they stated in a call-to-action post.

The backlash has impacted Infinity Nikki’s Steam rating, which now sits at “Mixed” due to numerous negative reviews warning potential players to steer clear until issues are resolved.

In response, Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising improvements. The letter also included compensation for players in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. Additionally, the Mira Crown event was extended to end on May 16, with the next season starting the same day.

Despite these concessions, some players remain skeptical, particularly about the continued 11-piece requirement for new outfits. Reddit user EdensAsmr expressed concern that accepting these changes could lead to even more demanding requirements in future updates. “Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it,” they warned.

Players have started to celebrate the quick response from Infold, but the community remains vigilant, urging continued pressure to ensure future updates meet their expectations.
