The official announcement, appearing on Netmarble's forums, confirmed the shutdown date as October 30th, 2024. Players will be disappointed to learn that in-game purchases have already been disabled, ceasing on June 26th, 2024.

The reasons behind this closure remain somewhat unclear. While the game enjoyed a successful six-year run, featuring numerous high-profile crossovers and consistently positive player reviews praising its animations and PvP, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt from the original King of Fighters series.
