Healing Methods in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Several methods exist for health restoration:

  • Consuming food and alcohol
  • Using Marigold Decoction potions
  • Sleeping
  • Applying bandages

While seemingly straightforward, these methods have nuances:

Food and Alcohol Consumption

Eating food or drinking alcohol replenishes HP over time. However, consuming food with full Nourishment results in an "Overfed" debuff, reducing maximum stamina. Similarly, a full stomach prevents further food consumption, leaving you vulnerable with low health unless alternative healing is available. Alcohol, while effective, can induce a "Drunk" status, though perks can mitigate this negative effect.

Potion Use

As in the first game, Marigold Decoction potions provide a direct health boost. Remember to gather ingredients and brew them beforehand. Maintaining a supply is essential.

Resting and Sleeping

Resting restores health. However, sleeping in unauthorized locations may lead to a crime report unless resolved through dialogue. While open-world campsites and hay beds offer rest, the quality of sleep (and therefore health restoration) is inferior to a proper bed in an inn. Prioritizing a bed at an inn, especially at night, is recommended. Early in the game, consider utilizing the miller's or blacksmith's offer of lodging as part of the main quest.

Bandage Application

Significant slash damage can inflict a "Bleeding" debuff, rapidly draining HP and hindering combat. Immediately apply bandages from your inventory to stop the bleeding and remove the debuff.
