Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Footage Appears Online

by Camila May 25,2025

Exciting news for Battlefield fans: Early gameplay footage of EA's highly anticipated upcoming Battlefield game has surfaced online after a closed playtest. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz streamed footage from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest, designed to allow a select group of players to experience and provide feedback on early versions of the game. Although the original stream is no longer available on anto_merguezz's page, the footage has been captured and shared across various platforms, with Reddit being a major hub for its circulation.

The leaked footage seems to corroborate the "modern" setting hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from previous Battlefield titles with historical or futuristic themes. Viewers are treated to glimpses of intense firefights and the game's signature destructible environments. The response from the community has been largely positive, a promising sign following the lukewarm reception to Battlefield 2042's launch.

Following the initial reveal last month, expectations for the new Battlefield game have been building. One of the most exciting announcements is the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a feature that was missed in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.

EA has slated the next Battlefield game for a fiscal 2026 release, which means we can anticipate its launch sometime between April 2025 and March 2026. As the release date approaches, we're likely to see more official content from EA. With leaks already surfacing, it's clear that the excitement for what might be called Battlefield 6 is palpable, and more information may be coming sooner rather than later.

IGN has reached out to EA for further comment on this development.
