Marvel Rivals Developer Says There's Currently No Plan for a PvE Mode

Marvel Rivals: PvE Mode Remains Unconfirmed, but NetEase is Exploring Options

While Marvel Rivals is a relatively new game, player anticipation for significant additions is already high. Recent speculation centered on a potential PvE boss fight and the possibility of a dedicated PvE mode. However, NetEase recently clarified that a full-fledged PvE mode isn't currently in the works.

In a conversation with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit, the possibility of a PvE mode was addressed. Wu stated that while there are no current plans, NetEase's development team is actively experimenting with new gameplay modes. The introduction of a new mode would depend on its entertainment value and overall appeal.

Following this statement, Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo inquired about my personal preference for a PvE mode. Upon expressing interest, Wu elaborated, suggesting that a hardcore PvE experience would differ significantly from the current game's design. The team is exploring alternative approaches, potentially a "lighter" PvE mode, to determine the best fit for Marvel Rivals.

Therefore, while no concrete PvE plans exist, NetEase hints at exploring less intensive PvE options, possibly limited-time events or similar additions. Further details remain undisclosed.

Marvel Rivals continues to receive updates approximately every six weeks, introducing new characters. Human Torch and The Thing are slated to join the roster on February 21st. Separate discussions with Wu and Koo also covered potential Nintendo Switch 2 support and addressed rumors of intentionally misleading dataminers with false hero leaks within the game's code.
