Metaphor: ReFantazio Releases New Update for January 2025

Metaphor: ReFantazio receives Update 1.11, enhancing menu navigation and addressing PC-specific bugs. This follows the game's incredibly successful launch in October 2024, achieving million-unit sales on its first day and garnering widespread critical acclaim, including numerous Game of the Year awards and a perfect 100 score on OpenCritic.

Update 1.11 introduces improved menu functionality across all platforms, allowing players to adjust battle formations and swap party members from both the main and equip menus. A new "jump to category" feature for the item screen streamlines gameplay. PC players benefit from numerous bug fixes impacting camera control, frame rate, and controller responsiveness.

While a sequel isn't currently in development, director Katsura Hashino expressed his hope for a future Metaphor: ReFantazio series, envisioning it alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei as a major JRPG franchise. This desire, coupled with Atlus's recent success, fuels fan anticipation for future announcements, particularly concerning the long-awaited Persona 6, especially as 2025 marks the ninth anniversary of Persona 5.
