Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two consecutive character reveals. Yesterday's esports trailer teased T-1000, but the Terminator isn't the immediate addition to the roster. Conan the Barbarian takes center stage, launching next week for premium edition owners, with a gameplay trailer released today showcasing his brutal fighting style.

Conan's design clearly reflects his archetype: a powerful, heavy-hitting character. His attacks appear devastating, though his lack of agility and speed might be a trade-off for increased sword reach. Matchups against characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander will be particularly intriguing.

While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the spectacular flair of some other MK1 finishers. His acid-drowning technique feels somewhat underwhelming. Nevertheless, compelling gameplay beyond the fatalities is key, and Conan promises a unique and enjoyable experience.

Premium edition owners gain early access on Tuesday, while everyone else must wait until January 28th.
