Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Enhanced Features
Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is set for a broader retail launch in March 2025, as announced via the company's official Twitter (X) account. This expanded release will make Alarmo available to a wider audience, eliminating the previous requirement of a Nintendo Online membership.
Initially released to great fanfare (and immediate sell-outs!), Alarmo will now be stocked at major retailers globally, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers. The device is priced at $99.99 USD.
The high demand for Alarmo following its October 9th, 2024 launch led to immediate sell-outs in various locations, including a complete sell-out in New York City and the implementation of a lottery system in Japan to manage demand.
Key Features of Nintendo Alarmo:
Alarmo boasts a unique gameplay-inspired wake-up experience. Users can select from 42 scenes featuring characters and sounds from popular Nintendo titles such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, with more to be added via free updates.
The alarm's gentle start features a character appearing on screen, followed by a gradual increase in sound intensity if the user remains in bed. A motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without touching the device. Additional features include hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. A "Button Mode" is recommended for households with pets or other occupants sharing the bed.
The expanded March 2025 release marks a significant step in making this unique alarm clock accessible to all Nintendo fans, regardless of their Nintendo Online subscription status.
