Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Debuts Black and White Kyurem with New Adventure Effects

The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their grand debut at the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event. These formidable Pokémon bring with them exciting new Adventure Effects that can significantly enhance your Pokémon-catching experience outside of battle. Don't forget to leverage the Tour Pass to maximize your earnings throughout the event.

Black Kyurem's signature move, Freeze Shock, envelops the area in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them easier to catch. Meanwhile, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, simplifying the challenge of landing Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total maximum of 24 hours.

During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. After successfully fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, you'll unlock Freeze Shock or Ice Burn, which will replace Glaciate. Remember, these moves will revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. Currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves using a Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

You'll have the choice between two event badges: Black Version (Reshiram) or White Version (Zekrom). With the Black Version, Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version will grant Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, and Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem will also know Glaciate.

To enhance your event experience, make use of the Tour Pass, which unlocks rewards and amplifies your Adventure Effects. Collect Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or expedite your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone not only boosts your Catch XP but also extends the duration of Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
