Niantic announces major Pokemon Go event in Sao Paulo, Brazil! Get ready for a city-wide celebration in December. More details are coming soon, but expect a Pikachu-filled extravaganza!
This exciting news was revealed at gamescom latam 2024 by Niantic's Alan Madujano (Head of Operations in LATAM), Eric Araki (Country Manager for Brazil), and Leonardo Willie (Community Manager for Emerging Markets). They highlighted Pokemon Go's immense popularity in Brazil, a success fueled by initiatives like reduced in-game item costs.
To further enhance the Brazilian Pokemon Go experience, Niantic is collaborating with city governments to significantly increase the number of PokeStops and Gyms nationwide, ensuring a more enjoyable and accessible gameplay experience for all. This initiative also includes partnerships with Sao Paulo's Civil House and shopping centers to create fun and safe Pokemon Go events.
The announcement also included the reveal of a locally produced video celebrating Pokemon Go's impact in Brazil. This underscores Niantic's commitment to the Brazilian community and hints at even more exciting developments to come.
