Pokémon Vending Machines: A Guide for Trainers
Pokémon fans are buzzing about the appearance of Pokémon vending machines across the US. These aren't your average snack dispensers; they offer a curated selection of Pokémon merchandise, primarily focusing on the Trading Card Game (TCG).
What are they?
These automated machines, initially trialled in Washington in 2017, dispense Pokémon TCG products. The successful trial led to their wider rollout, with many now found in major grocery stores. Their bright, eye-catching designs make them easy to spot. Unlike older models, these machines feature touchscreens for easy browsing and credit card payment, complete with charming Pokémon animations. While a digital receipt is emailed, returns aren't accepted.
What do they sell?
Primarily, these vending machines stock Pokémon TCG products such as booster packs and Elite Trainer Boxes. While some older machines in Washington State offered a broader range of merchandise, the current focus is on TCG items. Don't expect plushies or video games here.
Finding a machine near you:
The official Pokémon Center website maintains an up-to-date list of US locations. Currently, machines are concentrated in specific cities within several states, primarily located within partner grocery stores like Kroger, Safeway, and Albertsons. The website allows you to filter by state to find nearby machines and even provides a "Follow" option for notifications on new additions.
