Saber Interactive confirms: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will launch DRM-free. This means no digital rights management software, like Denuvo, will be included. Read on for more details about the game's launch!
In a recent FAQ, Saber Interactive outlined player expectations for the upcoming September 9th release. They explicitly stated that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will not utilize DRM. While DRM is often used to combat piracy, it's also known to sometimes negatively impact game performance.
Although DRM is absent, the PC version will employ Easy Anti-Cheat at launch. The use of Easy Anti-Cheat has faced scrutiny in the past, notably in relation to an Apex Legends hacking incident.
The developers have also clarified that there are currently no plans for official mod support. However, the game will offer a PvP arena mode, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. Importantly, Saber Interactive guarantees that all gameplay content will be free, with microtransactions and paid DLC restricted to cosmetic items only.
