Shift Up, the developer behind the popular action game Stellar Blade, has unveiled its roadmap for future updates. Riding the wave of its successful launch, the studio is addressing player concerns and delivering highly anticipated features. A key focus has been on performance optimization and overall quality-of-life improvements, ensuring a smoother gaming experience.
While progress on other updates continues, Shift Up has prioritized resolving performance issues. However, the company recently shared a glimpse into its plans, outlining a timeline for several exciting additions. A much-requested Photo Mode is slated for release around August, followed by new character skins sometime after October. Most notably, a significant collaboration is planned for the end of the year, with speculation pointing towards a potential crossover with the Nier series, given the established connection between the directors and Stellar Blade's clear inspiration from Nier: Automata.
Stellar Blade Update Roadmap:
Beyond these updates, Shift Up is diligently working on the PC release of Stellar Blade. The developer expressed confidence in the game's performance, citing sales exceeding one million copies – a significant achievement for a new IP. This success, mirroring the trajectory of titles like Ghost of Tsushima and Detroit: Become Human, fuels optimism for the future, including the confirmed development of a sequel. While paid DLC is being considered, the studio is currently prioritizing the immediate roadmap, suggesting that further details on the sequel and DLC may take some time. For now, fans have plenty to anticipate with the planned updates.
