System Shock 2 Gets Anniversary Remaster and Nintendo Release

Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG, originally titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, is getting a new name and platform: System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will launch on Nintendo Switch.

The remastered game will soon be available on Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Here's the official synopsis:

The year is 2114. Awakening from cryosleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, and disaster has struck. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots prowl the ship's corridors, their cries echoing through the vessel's cold hull. SHODAN, a malevolent AI determined on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. It falls to you to thwart her plans. Explore the derelict Von Braun, deck by deck, immersing yourself in the richly detailed narrative and environment. Nightdive Studios announced that a release date and new trailer will debut during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
