Nintendo has officially confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will indeed support cloud saves, much to the relief of fans. Previously, there was confusion and concern when IGN reported on a disclaimer suggesting that the game might not include this feature. The initial disclaimer on Nintendo's website for the Switch 2 edition of Tears of the Kingdom stated: "Please note: this software does not support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership’s Save Data Cloud backup feature."
However, Nintendo has since updated its website with new information. While the page for Donkey Kong Bananza has removed all references to cloud saves, the disclaimer on the Tears of the Kingdom page has been revised to read: "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch." This update indicates that players will be able to transfer their saves from the original Switch to the Switch 2, but not vice versa. This clarification was appreciated and reported by Eurogamer.

Similarly, the page for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition now features the same message, indicating a consistent approach to save data transfers across these titles.
In other news, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have gone live, maintaining a price of $449.99. The response has been as enthusiastic as anticipated. For those interested, IGN's Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide offers further details and assistance.
