The popular Reclaimer 18 shotgun has been temporarily removed from Call of Duty: Warzone, with developers offering little explanation beyond a brief announcement. This unexpected action has ignited debate within the player community, prompting speculation regarding the underlying cause.
Warzone boasts an extensive arsenal, constantly expanding with weapons from new Call of Duty titles like Black Ops 6. This vast selection presents balancing challenges, particularly when integrating weapons originally designed for different games (e.g., Modern Warfare 3). Maintaining balance and stability across diverse weapon sets is a significant undertaking for the developers.
The Reclaimer 18, a semi-automatic shotgun inspired by the SPAS-12, is the latest weapon to encounter issues. The official Call of Duty announcement stated its removal "until further notice," providing no specific reasons or timeline for its return.
Reclaimer 18's Unexpected Absence
The lack of detail surrounding the Reclaimer 18's disabling has fueled player speculation. Some believe a "glitched" blueprint version, potentially exhibiting excessive lethality, is to blame. Evidence shared online seems to support this theory.
Player reactions are divided. Many welcome the temporary removal, suggesting the weapon was overpowered. Some even advocate reconsidering the JAK Devastators aftermarket parts, which allow dual-wielding of the Reclaimer 18, creating a highly effective, albeit controversial, combat setup. While nostalgic for the "akimbo shotgun" meta of past games, others found this combination frustrating.
However, others express disappointment, arguing the action is overdue. The problematic blueprint is part of a paid Tracer Pack, leading to accusations of unintentional "pay-to-win" mechanics. These players contend that more thorough testing should have occurred before the Tracer Pack's release.
