In Monster Hunter Wilds, Hirabami stand out as a challenging boss due to their preference for group dynamics. To handle these pack hunters effectively, equip yourself with Large Dung Pods. These tools will scatter the Hirabami, allowing you to tackle them individually and manage the fight more strategically.
Hirabami's penchant for aerial maneuvers can be frustrating, especially for melee combatants. Ranged weapon users, particularly those wielding a Bow, can handle this with ease. However, for those using melee weapons, Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo is your key to grounding these creatures. If you're out of ammo, target Hirabami's tail to obtain a Tail Claw Shard, which can be converted into the needed ammo.
The Iceshard Cliffs arena where you'll fight Hirabami is littered with environmental traps like Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Strategically using these can stun and inflict significant damage on Hirabami, turning the environment to your advantage.
The head is Hirabami's most vulnerable spot, though reaching it can be tricky due to their airborne nature. Ranged attackers should focus their shots here, while melee fighters should strike at the neck when the creature descends. Avoid the torso, as it's heavily armored and less effective to target.
Hirabami's unpredictable movements make them a tricky foe. They'll attempt to bite, spit, or dive-bomb you from the sky. Keep an eye on their head to anticipate these attacks. However, don't neglect their tail; it swings like a hammer and can deliver devastating blows if you're not careful.

To capture Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds, weaken it until its health drops to 20% or less, indicated by a skull icon on the mini-map. Deploy a Pitfall Trap or a Shock Trap to immobilize the beast. Act quickly to administer a Tranquilizer, rendering Hirabami unconscious. Successful capture ends the battle, granting you standard rewards but potentially fewer materials from breaking its weak spots.
This guide covers everything you need to know about defeating and capturing Hirabami in Monster Hunter Wilds. Remember to use Large Dung Pods or the SOS feature to simplify the fight.
