After a 2024 hiatus when Football Manager 25 was cancelled, the series is finally making its comeback. Football Manager 26 has a confirmed release date of November 4, 2025, and yes, preorders are already live.

FM26 is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. FM26 Touch will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive, while FM26 Mobile will only be available through Netflix. In short, no matter your platform of choice (barring perhaps a literal toaster), you can get your managerial fix.

Currently, preorders are open for the PC version via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Fanatical (which provides a Steam key). Console preorders have been tagged with a "coming soon" status, which loosely translates to: "please be patient."

For PC players, the most attractive deal right now is through Fanatical, where FM26 is priced at £40.99 in the UK and $44.99 in the US. This represents an 18% discount off the full retail price, making it a solid deal if you know you'll be picking up the game anyway.

This is the deepest discount currently available. Both the Epic Games Store and Steam are only offering a 10% preorder discount. Furthermore, since Fanatical provides a Steam key, you can easily activate it within your main library without managing another launcher.

What’s New in FM26

FM26 isn't just a late arrival; it's a comprehensive overhaul. The franchise is shifting to the Unity engine, promising a major visual upgrade and more realistic in-match animations. Sports Interactive released a 'Match Day First Look' in September, showcasing this new technology.

Women's football is also finally joining the game, with top leagues from England, Spain, Germany, France, and the US expected to be included. The tactical system is being deepened with new player roles, more formation flexibility, and greater control over your team's behavior with and without possession. In other words, you'll have even more tactical nuances to obsess over when your digital defenders go rogue.

You can anticipate the usual interface refinements and quality-of-life improvements, but FM26's core ambition is evident. For those who love analyzing player stats on the go, FM26 Touch launches on Nintendo Switch on December 4. FM26 Mobile will be available on Netflix, meaning you can manage your team on the same app you use to stream your favorite shows.
