Magic: The Gathering's highly anticipated crossover with Final Fantasy arrives on June 13. The Starter Kit is your last chance to get in on the action from major retailers, now back in stock and available to preorder at Amazon for just $19.87. UK collectors can secure it for £15.99.
With other sets already sold out and some individual cards commanding prices over $500, securing your preorder now is advisable before it disappears as quickly as a Chocobo.

Release Date: June 13, 2025. Pay only when your order ships.$19.87 at Amazon
Hype for the new set has been building since its announcement, and a recent trailer has amplified the excitement even further.
The singles market is seeing remarkably high prices, with the borderless Cloud, Midgar Mercenary card priced around $147.23, while the Surge Foil version soars to a staggering $599, making it the set's most expensive card.
Whether you've already preordered or are hunting for rare singles, several standout cards are worth watching in the coming weeks.
This includes the stunning borderless Kefka, Court Mage card, featured in the latest MTG teaser trailer from PAX East with art by legendary Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano.

TCG Player is an excellent destination for purchasing a wide variety of single cards to add to your deck, eliminating the need to rely on booster pack luck.
It's also a valuable resource for determining your cards' value after the set releases. If you happen to pull any Surge Foil cards from your booster preorders, you could find yourself with a significant windfall. Keep in mind that card prices are volatile and may change as the release date approaches.
Other notable cards to watch for in boosters or consider buying individually include the Cloud, Ex-Soldier Commander card, currently priced at $45.99. Its value comes from how easily it equips other creatures you control on the battlefield.
The full-art version of Yuffie Kisaragi - Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow is another standout, priced just under $100 due to its effectiveness as a Commander and its rarity, especially with its classic late '90s FF7 art style.
Special edition cards reach another level of expense. Alongside the staggering $599 Cloud card, the borderless Traveling Chocobo costs $169.98, while the standard version is a still-pricey $114.97.
You can also purchase the new Traveling Chocobo cards, which were highlighted in their own teaser trailer featuring a limited edition Gold Chocobo.
While the rarest cards command high prices, TCG Player also offers many affordable singles.
You can find cards like Sazh’s Chocobo for $1.96, Tonberry for $2.49, the useful Summon: Shiva for $1.56, or even Gladiolus Amicitia for just 33 cents.
TCG Player is also hosting preorders for select Final Fantasy booster sets, though prices are above the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP).
A nine-booster Final Fantasy bundle (including bonus cards) is $87.99, and a 30-pack Play Booster Display box is $164.99 plus shipping; both are approximately $20-$30 above MSRP.
Individual sealed boosters are available for $7.99 each plus shipping.

For those preordering the Starter Kit, it's important to know that each deck is preconstructed and does not include random booster packs (so no chance of a surprise $600 card).
Instead, the kit contains one traditional foil legendary creature, five brand-new non-foil cards making their debut in Magic, and 54 cards from the main set.
The kit also includes four non-foil double-sided tokens, two MTG Arena code cards (one for each deck), and two deck boxes, offering significant value for a $20 product.
For new Magic: The Gathering players, the Arena code cards are particularly beneficial. You can redeem both decks to play online, allowing you to learn the game at your own pace through AI matches or competitive play.

Looking for more? A wide range of other Magic: The Gathering products are available for purchase or preorder, including the highly anticipated Edge of Eternities set.
The selection includes a mix of items, with older products like the $749 Theros Beyond Death booster and the costly Lord of the Rings sample bundles reaching premium prices.
