Nintendo fans have uncovered a beloved hidden gem in the upcoming Mario Kart World for Switch 2 - the return of a classic musical Easter egg that's delighted players for decades.

The legendary Totaka's Song, a melodic signature that's stealthily appeared in numerous Nintendo titles, makes its latest appearance in Mario Kart World's character selection menu.

To discover this musical surprise, navigate to Yoshi on the roster and wait while the cheerful dinosaur dances. After a brief period, he'll begin humming a nostalgic tune - confirming this as another iteration of the iconic Totaka's Song.

Composed by Nintendo veteran Kazumi Totaka - who also voices Yoshi - this recurring melody has subtly appeared across countless Nintendo franchises, from Animal Crossing to Super Smash Bros., making each discovery a special moment for fans.

"After waiting patiently, Yoshi indeed began humming the familiar Totaka's Song, much like in Mario Kart 8," charizardtelephone elaborated, describing the Easter egg's discovery. "It's a fantastic hidden detail that many might have missed."

Mario Kart World is already outperforming Breath of the Wild's launch sales from the original Switch release in Japan. Bundled with the new console, this racing title represents Nintendo's first major success for their next-generation platform. Next in Nintendo's lineup is Donkey Kong Bananza, which will receive more details in an upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation.
