In June 2024, Nintendo concluded its Direct presentation with a full gameplay trailer for Metroid Prime 4, now subtitled Beyond, and announced a 2025 release window. The trailer introduced the villain Sylux, who leads a group of Space Pirates inside an unidentified facility.

More recently, on January 3, 2025, Nintendo reaffirmed the 2025 release window for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond in an official news post. Although Amazon’s cancellation has caused concern among fans, the post confirms the game is still on track for a 2025 launch.

With the Switch 2 announcement expected soon, it remains to be seen whether the game will launch on the original Switch or its successor.
